Listen, I know we love our shadow daddies, but it was refreshing to have some popular tropes broken in this new western romantasy (a genre I didn’t even know I needed) with a lawful good blonde MMC x wouldn’t want to hurt a fly FMC, while still keeping in the micro tropes that make me kick-my-feet-giddy🤩! Fans of The Mummy will love this.
When triple threat (author, artist and all around amazing human) S.R. Hawkins came out with an illustrated book, I knew I had to get my hands on an ARC if at all possible!! Thank you so much Sunni for allowing me to read this one early. I’m having a major book hangover! I NEED book 2, like, yesterday.
What a great debut novel!
Two words: Fae Western
I never knew I needed fantasy in the Wild West until I read this book and now I need more! There’s everything you want in a good romantasy - magic, endearing characters, heartbreak, spice, fantastical creatures, and wonderful world-building, PLUS a cowboy-style, grumpy MMC with the brains and abs to back up his sweet heart.
WOW. What can I say? This book absolutely ruined me in the best possible way. It cannot believe more people are not reading/talking about this.
